Superantigens are a potent agonist of the T lymphocyte. Superantigens can be produced by various microorganisms including bacteria, viruses and parasites. Many dermatological conditions are associated with or exacerbated by infectious organisms with superantigenic pathogenicity. Conventional medicines are limited in their ability to effectively address superantigens in the treatment of skin conditions.

From this seminar you will:
- Understand the role of superantigens in acute and chronic skin disease (including psoriasis and eczema)
- Understand the importance of herbal bioactives in the treatment of superantigens in the age of antibiotic resistance
- Learn the importance of further research in the area of superantigens in chronic disease
