Shayne Connell BA (Psych) MBA GAICD
Shayne Connell is Director of LivingWorks Australia, the leading provider of suicide prevention training across the world. Shayne has a background in Psychology and 20 years' experience in suicide prevention and training. Shayne has delivered the LivingWorks ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and LivingWorks safeTALK programs across Australia and the world for Business, Government, Military and non-Government organisations since 2003. He has served as the Deputy Lord Mayor of the City of Newcastle, Australia and on the Board of Suicide Prevention Australia.
Julie Heraghty is Director, Quality & Innovation for Suicide Prevention Australia. Prior to joining SPA, Julie Heraghty served for 13 years as Chief Executive Officer of Macular Disease Foundation Australia. Under Julie’s leadership the Foundation evolved into a world leader in awareness of macular degeneration and a major provider of funding for research for the eye disease. Julie’s career began as a secondary school teacher and school psychologist. Prior to joining the Foundation, Julie spent over seven years as a Policy Advisor to NSW State Ministers, and also served as a director and manager in major government departments.
Tegan Jones is the Program Design and Development Coordinator for LivingWorks Education. Tegan has extensive experience in the development of training curricula and suicide prevention programs, and was one of the lead authors of LivingWorks Start. Tegan is from Sydney, NSW but now resides in Calgary, Canada where she is responsible for service development and implementation of the suicide prevention and intervention training solution delivered by LivingWorks Education across the world. Tegan has a Bachelor of Counselling and Bachelor of Behavioural Science from Notre Dame University and a Masters of Counselling from UNE. She has experience managing mental health programs in the NGO sector and developing and delivering training across Government Health organisations.
