beyondblue is delivering two webinar events specifically for workplace settings aiming to increase the knowledge and skills of employees and managers on mental health issues in the workplace.

The two events will be delivered by Liz Tobin, Workplace Health and Wellbeing Facilitator, Executive Coach and Consultant.

Webinar 1: Workplace mental health awareness
Date: Thursday, 11th October 2018

The first webinar in the series aims to increase participants' awareness and understanding of depression and anxiety including understanding mental health risk and protective factors in the workplace, strategies to look after yourself and information on support and resources available.

Webinar 2: Supporting staff and colleagues
Date: Thursday, 25th October 2018

Continuing on from the first webinar, this event will outline tips for having a conversation with someone at work you may be concerned about, supporting an employee’s or a colleague’s recovery at work, and information to know what supports and resources are available for staff and how to access them for the workplace.

Note: You will gain the most benefit from the webinars by attending both however it's not mandatory. Both webinars will be available to watch on the Heads Up website in the weeks following the conclusion of the webinars.

About the Presenter

Liz Tobin

Workplace Health and Wellbeing Facilitator, Executive Coach and Consultant

Liz has extensive knowledge and experience in facilitation and training delivery in the field of workplace health and wellbeing. Liz has presented to over 200 organisations nationally. She has presented to executives, senior managers and employees of numerous companies and organisations. She has also presented at many conferences delivering on key messages including workplace health and wellbeing.

Liz was involved in the design and development of the ‘Mental health matters @ AV’ training program. This program was tailored specifically for all staff at Ambulance Victoria and included online and face-to-face training. It was delivered to over 5000 staff.

Over the last 10 years Liz has been involved in the design, development and delivery of the beyondblue, National Workplace Program. Liz has also been involved in the development of many online training programs for beyondblue, including; 

  • the design and development of the WH&S online training modules
  • the design and development of the union delegates tool box training resources
  • the design and development of mental health workshops for Racing Victoria
  • the development of the ‘how to have a conversation’ training module

Qualifications:

  •  Accredited facilitator for the beyondblue National Workplace Program
  •  Accredited facilitator for the Ambulance Victoria mental health awareness program (Mental health matters @ AV)
  • Accredited trainer and assessor for prospective beyondblue and Ambulance Victoria facilitators
  • Accredited in delivery and debrief of the GLWS (Global Leaders Wellbeing Survey)
  • Accredited executive and leadership coach, IECL - Diploma in Applied Ergonomics & Injury, RMIT, Melbourne
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Latrobe University
  • Professional Membership: Registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
